These pages will feature some of the wildflowers we have photographed in Western Australia, and where possible, identified.  If you are able to help identify further flowers, or correct any I may have wrong, please contact us.
 
Information given for each species will give botanical name, known common names, describe the flower, give time of year it flowered, and where it was photographed, and the areas it occurs in.  Names have been matched to Florabase which has also been used to show distribution.

Thryptomene australis Hook-leaf Thryptomene
Five petalled pale pink blossoms on a shrub with short leaves along all stems
Spring
Marchagee Nature Reserve and found through the Wheatbelt with some occurence in the Mid West, eastern areas of the Great Southern and the Goldfields bewteen Kalgoorlie and Esperance

Thomasia grandiflora Large Flowered Thomasia
A two tone pink five petalled flower with patterning on a short spreading upright shrub with small leaves with small crinkled edged leaves. Flowers face downwards so need lifting to see inside. 
October
Busselton-Nannup Road (to left), Palgarup (two photos below), and Bridgetown (lower photos), South West Region, Western Australia and ranges in areas near the coast from Coral Bay to Esperance, and into the South West region and lower Great Southern

Thysanotus.  Species of these pretty purple (and occasional white variations) are numerous, and my identification of some of these has not been confirmed.

This has a bunch of flowers from a branching stem, flowers having three long and three very short anthers. 
Dragon Rocks Nature Reserve, Newdegate, Wheatbelt region, Western Australia
 
Note that the background foliage is from Isopogon gardneri.  The foliage for this Thysanotus was hidden.

Thysanotus dichotomus, Branching Fringed Lily, Tangled Fringe Lily

And upright bush with three petalled mauve flowers with long fringed edges, and a darker centre stripe.   Six anthers, with three short and three long anthers.  Stems branch dichotomously (dividing equally with no obvious main stem, to form a thicket within the bush which can reach up to 1.5 metres.   

September to January

Bridgetown, South West region, Western Australia, and found through a wide area covering the Mid West, Wheatbelt, Perth, South West, Great Southern and coastal Goldfields regions.
