These pages will feature some of the wildflowers we have photographed in Western Australia, and where possible, identified.  If you are able to help identify further flowers, or correct any I may have wrong, please contact us.
 
Information given for each species will give botanical name, known common names, describe the flower, give time of year it flowered, and where it was photographed, and the areas it occurs in.  Names have been matched to Florabase which has also been used to show distribution.

Rytidosperma caespitosum, Wallaby Grass
There are many native grasses in our bushland, often overlooked as weeds.  This one appears to be Rytidosperma caespitosum, a native grass, but the beautiful red tinge these have is not shown in descriptions.
Spring
Bridgetown, South West region, Western Australia and has a widespread distribution throughout the southern parts of the state, south west of a line from Shark Bay to the South Australian border approximately 100 kilometres north of the south coast.

Roepera aurantiaca 2003, (formerly Zygophyllum aurantiacum), Shrubby Twinleaf, Native Hop.

A low growing plant with narrow flat divided leaves.  Small yellow four petalled flowers. 
August

Lake Johnston in the Dundas shire in the southern Goldfields and at Yalgoo in the Mid West region, and can be found through the southern parts of the Gascoyne region, Mid West, Wheatbelt, Goldfields and Great Southern regions including the desert areas.  Also occurs in South Australia.

Roebuckiella ciliocarpa 2015 (formerly Brachyscome ciliocarpa then Roebuckia ciliocarpa 2014), Native Daisy, Showy Daisy.

Daisies with a large domed yellow centre and petals which can occur in shades of purple and pink, with around thirteen petals but can have more or less

Spring

Seen Yalgoo to Yalgoo, and at Ajana, Mid West Region, Western Australia and occurs through the Mid West, Pilbara, Northern Wheatbelt and Northern Goldfields Regions

Roepera eichleri 2003, (formerly Zygophyllum eichleri), Eichler Twinleaf.

A low growing small plant with five petalled yellow flowers. Leaves oval fleshy are paired.  Fruit is more rounded and has five sections. 

August

South of Leinster in the Leonora shire. Found in the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and Mid West, and the northern Goldfields regions.  Also found in inland South Australia and northern Territory.

Roepera are collectively known as Twinleaf, due to having leaves divided or forked into two separate pieces.  Plants are low growing and spreading.  Flowers are small, yellow and mostly four petalled but some species have five petals.  Most species have four winged fruit (seed pods).  These grow in most states of Australia, particularly in inland and semi arid regions. 

Roepera eremaea 2003, (formerly Zygophyllum eremaeum), Climbing Twinleaf, Shrubby Twinleaf, Scrambling Twinleaf.

A scrambling plant which climbs over other vegetation.  Small yellow four petalled flowers.  Divided leaves mostly short, fleshy and cylindrical. 

August

This was photographed in South Australia and both flowers and four winged pods forming can be seen.  Found mostly in the Gascoyne, Mid West, inland Wheatbelt and into the Great Southern, and through the Goldfields region.  Also found in South Australia, Northern Territory and New South Wales. 

Roepera glauca 2003, (formerly Zygophyllum glaucum), Pale Twinleaf. 

Four petalled yellow flowers on a low growing spreading plant.  Twin leaves are oval.  Four winged fruit is slightly elongated. 

August

Coolgardie, in the Goldfields region, Western Australia, and found in the Goldfields, Great Southern, and inland parts of the southern Wheatbelt regions.  Occurs in all mainland states, mostly in the southern half of the continent. 

Roepera fruticulosa 2003, (formerly Zygophyllum fruticulosum), Shrubby Twinleaf. 

Free standing or scrambling reaching up to 1.2 metres. Yellow four petalled flowers and four winged fruit.  Twin leaves taper to a point at the tip.

Noorgung Hill, Yalgoo, in the Mid West region, Western Australia and grows mostly in the coastal strip from Onslow in the Pilbara region, through the Gascoyne, Mid West and coastal Wheatbelt to Perth. Scattered occurrences in the inland Mid West and Goldfields. Also found in South Australia.
