The following Royal Flying Doctor Service telephone numbers are worth printing and taking with your satellite telephone if you are going really remote.

Emergency Services phone numbers
For real emergency contact for ambulance, police or fire brigade dial 000. If using a Satellite telephone, find out if your network supports 000, and if not, what numbers to call in an emergency (including international codes if required for your network).  Keep the list with your phone or key them into speed dial.  Update: As of 1st July 2013 all hand held satellite phones registered in Australia are required to be able to call emergency services 000. 
Emergency Services phone numbers
Police (Australia wide with the exception of Victoria) 131444.  Note that this number cannot be called from phone on an international network.  When in Victoria call 000, directory assistance for the number of the nearest Police Station, or phone Victorian Police Switchboard on (03) 9247 6666 Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm.  
SES (State Emergency Service) Australia wide 132500.  State Emergency Services (SES) are an Australian volunteer organisation that provides emergency help during and after (natural or otherwise) disasters. Note that this number cannot be called from phone on an international network. The SES is also the primary or secondary agency for minor daily emergencies, such as storm damage, building damage, traffic hazards and road crash rescue. In other scenarios the SES may provide a support role to other agencies, particularly police and fire, and be involved in search and rescue operations.

Beakdown Assitance Australia Wide 131111 if you have membership on one of these State Organisations can be called from satellite phones.  You may need to add international code if calling from an international satellite network.  See calling by SMS  for numbers to contact using SMS for Hearing Impaired
